The Produce Industry Likes the Farm Bill?

According to industry sources, the produce industry is thrilled with the version of the farm bill just passed by the House. Well, it does contain some support funds for fruit and vegetable growers, calls for country-of-origin labeling, and has some other useful provisions. But subsidies for corn, soybeans, and other agribusiness commodities? No way.

  1. If you’re like me and disagree with the now standard practice of Agri-businesses getting tax-payers funded government subsidies (corporate welfare, most “farmers” earn over $200,000/yr) then we need to act! Let’s not use our tax dollars to promote high fructose corn syrup and cheap corn.
    Write to your Representative regarding their vote and before it’s too late, write to your Senators who will soon be voting on the Farm Bill:
