Obesity prevention: what states are doing
June 26, 2008
I am often asked what states are doing about obesity, especially in children. Fortunately, the Robert W. Johnson Foundation makes it easy to answer that question. It tracks state-by-state legislative and other actions aimed at improving diets and physical activity levels. The Foundation’s latest report indicates “growing momentum,” but many “remaining challenges.”

Nice self-congratulatory recitation of all the wonderful things done to help the rising tide of obesity.
Where any of these things effective?
Did any of these programs reduce obesity, improve health?
Just curious if any of these intiatives actually worked.
Or is being effective not really the point? Or is it more important to be ‘doing something’? Never mind whether it works or not.
I’m confused here.
