coca-cola doesn’t market to kids (at least in Canada)?

July 24, 2008

My Canadian correspondent, Yoni Freedhoff, tells me (and his blog readers) that Coca-Cola has an ad in the Canadian Medical Journal assuring doctors that the company has not marketed its products to children for the last 50 years.  This is news to me.  Aren’t you happy to know this?

  1. Been to a “kids” movie lately? Only about 50% of the ads are from Coke — I suspect Canada is no different.

How could they even think this would not bite them in the bum?

  2. Or their elaborate Santa/’magic of Christmas’ campaigns…. Surely aimed at adults, right?

  3. I’m happy that there were never actually any Coca-Cola soda machines in schools. Never. Ever. No huge Coke logos, either.
