Who will Obama appoint: the game begins

November 10, 2008

The guessing game about appointments to key posts in food and agriculture - Secretaries of USDA and HHS and head of the FDA - is now well underway.  Here’s the current guess from Packer.com, which represents the produce industry, and must be hoping for business-as-usual.  I’m hoping for a breath of fresh air.  Fingers crossed.

  2. I know it is a long shot, but I’m pulling for Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) for FDA Commissioner. She has a clear understanding of the agency’s failings and is never afraid to speak truth to power.

  3. Marion, I’d love to hear more about who you think would make good choices to these posts! Thanks!

  4. Yes, DeLauro would also make a good Food Safety Administrator, head of a new Food Safety Administration (FSA). So would Bill Marler.
